The room featured a nice spacious layout, allowing comfortable movement, and the decor had a cozy vibe. The pub environment felt welcoming, making it a solid spot to unwind after a long day.
Had a couple of quirks that made the stay a bit uncomfortable. Despite the cozy room, noise from outside was a consistent issue. the windows didn't shut properly, letting in all kinds of racket, particularly from roadworks and other guests slamming doors late at night. The heating setup was a bit off—radiators were stuck on, which made for a sweltering environment, even though the staff provided a fan that only circulated the heat. Breakfast took a long time to arrive, even with just a few tables occupied, and it didn't quite meet expectations. specific items were overcooked and felt like they'd been sitting around. some room maintenance would help this place shine.

really nice stay, comfy double room with ensuite. great location for exploring lichfield. staff were super friendly and helped us out. the vibe in the pub was cozy and welcoming, loved the fireside! even though we didnt eat, the food menu looked yum and we heard it was great!
the only downsides were the slow check-in and the breakfast was a bit basic for the price we paid.

Experiencing the charm of this lovely old building was a highlight, with a spacious room that offered impressive views of the countryside. The friendly staff made the stay even more enjoyable, and the food—especially the fried oysters—was exceptional. The only downside was finding the location a bit difficult initially, but the ample parking made up for it. All in all, a wonderful experience that warrants a return visit.

Had an awesome time with my friends! We enjoyed lovely walks by the waterside nearby and loved the cozy atmosphere with log fires. The staff were super friendly, and breakfast was great too. I recommend checking this out if you enjoy a warm, welcoming vibe and don’t mind a bit of rustic charm.
One minor downside was the bathroom smell the first night, which was a bit off-putting, but it sorted itself out after a shower. Just something to keep in mind!

The room offered a cozy and spacious retreat. Loved the tasteful decor throughout the hotel, really gave it a charming vibe. Enjoyed some lovely walks around the nearby gardens. Breakfast selection had a good variety, but service was frustratingly slow. I waited over an hour for breakfast, even though the place wasn't busy. The staff was friendly and helpful, but I felt they could’ve managed the kitchen more efficiently. The heating in the room could use some improvement. it didn’t get warm enough at night. There was also some noise from outside, which made it hard to completely relax. my experience was quite nice, but a few improvements in service and room comfort would make it much better.
